Privacy Notice
This notice explains how FEAR Financial Ltd collects, uses and protects personal data, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Who we are
FEAR Financial Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, FCA reference number 1012718, and registered under company number 14965151. Our registered office is 9 Victoria Street, Cwmbran, Wales, NP44 3JS.
If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle personal data, please contact us at hello@fearfinancial.co.uk.
The information we collect
- Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address and telephone number.
- Business information, such as your firm name, trading history, qualifications and regulatory status.
- Enquiry content — anything you choose to tell us in a message or conversation.
- Due diligence information where you apply to become an Appointed Representative, which may include credit, criminal record and regulatory reference checks.
- Technical information such as your IP address and browser type, collected by our hosting provider for security and reliability purposes.
How we use personal data and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry — our legitimate interest in dealing with people who contact us.
- To assess and onboard Appointed Representatives — steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and performance of that contract.
- To meet our regulatory obligations — compliance with a legal obligation, including FCA rules on oversight, record keeping and financial crime prevention.
- To administer and improve our website — our legitimate interest in a secure, working website.
Where we rely on consent — for example, if you ask to receive marketing emails — you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary: with our compliance partners who support our regulatory oversight, with our professional advisers, with service providers who host our systems under written contract, and with regulators, law enforcement or other bodies where we are legally required to do so. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
General enquiries are kept for up to 24 months. Records relating to Appointed Representative relationships and regulated activity are kept for at least six years after the relationship ends, in line with FCA record keeping requirements.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure or restriction, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to data portability where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@fearfinancial.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
